Cavan Centre Trip
We recently went on a trip to Cavan adventure center with 16 young people aged 15-18yrs old. The young people took part in several outdoor activities including high ropes, archery, forest walks as well as team building activities. We used these activities to develop teamwork, communication and leadership skills. The young people really enjoyed the trip and felt that some of the activities really pushed them out of their comfort zone and give them a real sense of achievement and a boost in confidence. One of the activities known as high ropes involved the young people climbing up a thirty-foot pole and standing on a small platform were they had to jump and catch a trapezes. The young people said it was scary but great fun. We hope to return to the Cavan Centre in 2020 with another group from the youth service.
