QQI Level 3 – Employability Skills

Communications

The purpose of this module is to provide the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to use a range of communication skills in familiar social and work or public contexts in one-to-one or in a small group.

Career Preparation

The purpose of this module is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to gather information and make informed judgments about work, training and educational opportunities, and gain practice in a range of skills needed to prepare for employment.

Application of Numbers

This module allows the learner to develop the knowledge, skill and competence to apply mathematical skills to solve mathematical problems. It is designed to provide a basic understanding of some mathematical concepts and their relationships, and to develop a limited range of skills which enable effective functioning in personal life, education and the workplace

Computer Literacy

The purpose of this module is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to describe the role of computers in everyday life and to operate a personal computer safely in a supervised environment.

Health & Fitness

This module equips the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to live a healthy and balanced life.

Woodcraft

The purpose of this award is to provide the learner with the relevant knowledge, skills and competence to use power and hand tools to complete a limited range of woodwork projects in a supervised workshop environment.

Art & Design

This module provides the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to explore aspects of the visual arts and to communicate using a range of media and materials. The award is designed to provide opportunity to generate images using a range of techniques and to develop personal creativity and visual awareness. 

Literacy & Numeracy Support

This programme is offered to all young people on the Connect Programme and is based on individual needs and requirements. Young people may request the support themselves but suitability is also identified through engagement/ observation in class. The focus is on improving literacy and numeracy skills to allow young people to reach their full potential.
