At Candle young people on the training programme have the opportunity to work towards a bronze Gaisce award. There are 4 challenge areas; personal skill, community involvement, physical activity, and adventure journey.

Gaisce or ‘great achievement’ is a self-development programme for young people between the ages of 15-25 and is a direct challenge to young people from the President of Ireland. Gaisce is focused on, and driven by, the following core values; Empowerment, Inclusion & Equality, Respect, and Excellence.
